FBI Investigates Malware Hidden in Steam Games

🎮 The FBI is asking gamers who installed certain Steam games between May 2024 and January 2026 to come forward as part of an investigation into malware distributed through the platform.

Several titles were found to contain information-stealing malware targeting cryptocurrency wallets and gaming accounts, including:

⚠️ BlockBlasters
⚠️ Chemia
⚠️ Dashverse / DashFPS
⚠️ Lampy
⚠️ Lunara
⚠️ PirateFi
⚠️ Tokenova

In one known case, a gamer lost over $32,000 in cryptocurrency after installing a malicious Steam title. Investigators estimate hundreds of victims may have been affected.

The malware reportedly harvested:
• Cryptocurrency wallets
• Login credentials
• Browser data and cookies
• Gaming accounts

🛡️ Security reminder: even trusted platforms can host malicious content if attackers manage to bypass review processes.
