Who is responsible for your data

This website is operated by Alcaeus Services OÜ, an Estonian company registered under registry code 16284577, VAT number EE102399350, registered at Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn, Harju maakond, Estonia. For any question about this notice or your data, contact support@alc-srv.eu.

Data collected through the contact form

When you submit the contact form, this application stores the following in its database:

• Your name, as you type it.
• Your email address, so a reply can reach you.
• The subject line, if you give one.
• The message itself.
• The language the site was showing you in when you submitted the form.
• A hashed record of the IP address the submission came from - not the address itself, and not one this application can reverse back into it.
• The date and time you submitted it, and, once a member of staff has dealt with it, when that happened and which staff account handled it.

Cookies

This website sets a small number of cookies: one for your language choice, one for cross-site request forgery protection on every form, one recording your cookie choice itself, and - only for Alcaeus staff signed in to manage the blog - one that keeps a staff sign-in active. None of them is shared with, or read by, any other company. Read the full cookie notice.

How long we keep it

Contact-form submissions are kept for 24 months from when you send them, and are deleted automatically after that period. In line with this project's data retention schedule: blog posts that have been deleted are kept for 400 days after deletion, a period an administrator can change, and are then permanently removed (published posts are never removed by this schedule); one-time sign-in codes and revoked device sessions are kept for 10 days; and everything else - including the internal audit log - is kept permanently unless you ask us to erase it sooner. You can ask for erasure at any time; see "Your rights" below.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data this website holds about you, object to its use, and request a copy in a portable format. Contact support@alc-srv.eu to exercise any of these. If you are unsatisfied with our answer, you may lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), the supervisory authority for a controller established in Estonia: https://www.aki.ee/en.

Where this runs

This website runs on Microsoft Azure App Service with an Azure SQL database, hosted within the European Union. Alcaeus Services OÜ is itself registered in Estonia, in the European Union. No content delivery network or third-party script runs on this site, so nothing you send here is passed to another company for advertising or tracking.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated as the website changes. Check this page for the current version; minor edits are not announced separately.
